Jan Comps

Being a business gal, I'm always looking at "comps" and this year vs. previous years. In applying that to my own life, I realized that as much as I think Ben has changed in his looks, he really hasn't! The first pic is from January of 2008 when he was 2 months old vs. the second picture in January of this year at 26 months old. Same kid, same expression and same personality, just 2 years bigger. With any luck he'll continue to stay just as he is and just get bigger!

First Day of "School"!

Since I am about to be home for awhile and Ben won't need to go to LeeAnn's house, we decided to start him in a little pre-pre-school one morning a week. Today was his first day and he did great! He was VERY excited to have a "packpack" and his teachers, Miss Michelle and Miss Patty, said that he did great. He followed directions well and was really trying to participate during the group song and the craft (now proudly displayed on the fridge). He said his favorite part was playing outside and that he wants to go back next week. Our little guy is growing up!

Sympathy Bump?

It's widely known that tons of husbands gain weight when their wives are preggers - i believe they refer to this as "sympathy weight". Well, Nate doesn't really have this prob, but Ben does. He has not gained weight, but he does think he's pregnant. He will walk around saying things like: "My tummy hurts cause my baby sister is kicking me" or I'll ask "where is your baby sister?" and he will reply "In my tummy" while he starts rubbing his belly. I guess he's just immitating his mom, who apparently needs to be very careful about what she says and does!

New Room!

In preparation of the arrival of Ben's baby sister we have officially moved him into his "big boy bed". He was beyond excited! It took us a few days to pull the whole thing together and it got to the point where we were having trouble fending him off from actually sleeping in there. As you can tell from the pic, he is very proud to be in his big bed. He's slept in there since Sunday without any probs, except for one night when he woke up at 4am and shouted "I have a BOO BOO". Half a second later he was in our bedroom just standing there. That was weird. I never expected that he would get out of the bed on his own, especially since in the morning he calls for us to come get him. We're still working on finishing off his new room, but so far so good! We're just hoping it continues to be this easy as the novelty wears off.
