Domestic Diva?

We have tons of toys at the house, but Ben's absolute favorite things to play with are the broom, the coffee maker and the hand mixer, which he believes is an iron (we don't have the wisks in it).

"Making coffee" and "drinking coffee" (in a thermal travel coffee mug) are very important parts of Ben's daily routine. When we go down for breakfast in the morning he says "I need coffee Mommy. I make it". Then he gets out the coffee maker and his mug and spends quite a bit of time getting it right before he'll share it with me.

The iron is also funny because he has no clue that an iron is for clothes (or that he's actually playing with a hand mixer), and he goes about ironing the kitchen floor.

He is very into cleaning up, making sure things are in their place and being an all around great helper. While I would be the first to point out that he doesn't get the zest for these things from me - i think he does! Not from my personality per se (i will be the first to admit my shortcomings in the housewife department) but by copying and mimicking me. If we play our cards right we may just get a very good house cleaner out of this whole deal!

Big News!

So, Ben got sent off to Noni and Pops house this weekend because Nate and I spent the weekend on the North Fork of Long Island where Katie and David got engaged!! Hooray! It was the perfect weekend...David did an amazing job of planning out the weekend while simultaneously surprising Katie.

The first pic is of Katie getting her second surprise of the night - David had already proposed, but she was surprised to find both families waiting to celebrate...it was pretty great.

As this is a Ben-centric blog, I know Ben is thrilled to welcome David to the family. He LOVES David...how could he not love the guy who helped him out with this look? (second pic)
