"Night, Night Mommy. See You Later"

Now that Ben is quite the chatter box, after his bedtime story we like to talk. Often times it's about the animals on his quilt that Nonni made him, or about Elmo and the gang, or about  "parts" (nose, eyes, etc.).

Tonight after we chatted extensively about elephants, I said "OK Ben, time for night night". To which he replied, "Oh no Mommy, I don't want it". So, the not wanting to go to bed has already started (although at 6:40 he walked over to the stairs and told me it was time for his bath).

We talked for a few more minutes before I put him in his crib and he said "Night night Mommy, see you later....byeeeee". Kinda funny.

Summer (like) Weekend

We decided to celebrate the recording-breaking heat wave by taking our first visit of the year to the zoo! Ben genuinely enjoyed it and I think he most liked the Tiger...he was right up against the glass when the Tiger walked up to the window - for once he was pretty speechless! He then went on a pony ride in the Children's zoo and on the train (which he was calling Thomas) before we headed out. Ben was so tuckered out he fell asleep in the stroller on the way to the parking lot.

We capped off our summer-like weekend with ice cream cones at Dairy Queen. Also a first for Ben and he is officially a fan (as if there was ever really a question). Bring on summer - we're ready!

Mammoth Park

(This is Nate) So we had to kill a half hour in the new routine that is our lives...where someone comes to see the house at Ben's bed or nap time. Took him to a local park. He went right at the biggest slide there...easily 10-12 feet high...tried to climb right up. No fear! Went up and down a dozen times (Dad carried him up).

So finally Dad goes down once...to which Ben says "Watch this!" and goes right down the slide on his "tummy". Nothing like your 1 year old one-upping you at the playground.

Anyways, reminded me of the GIANT slide at Mammoth Park out in Western PA. We will definitely have to take Ben there some time, he'll go bonkers. I just checked: it's 96 feet! Get out the wax paper!

Answer: A house on the market and two Easter weekends...

Question: What are two big time sucks?

(This is Nate) So, we finally made the commitment and put the house on the market, followed by back-to-back weekends with the family in Ridgefield and downashore. Needless to say, we've been swamped...and we've eaten a lot of ham. So my apologies for Kristen's lack of posting. Thought I'd try and get the ball rolling again with a link and a few pictures...

Here's a great picture of Ben and Mimi taking in some sun on the deck!

Easter Bunny

I cannot believe how long its been since I've made a post! We're getting ready to put the house on the market and every free moment has been dedicated to spackling, painting, cleaning, gardening, etc. Well, every moment except this past weekend! Mommy was away with her girlfriends celebrating Meredith's bachelorette party so Daddy and Ben were home alone (oh the horror!). They seemed to have a great time, and even went to an Easter Egg hunt in Concord. We're trying to prep Ben for Easter, but he really does not get it. We got him a basket with some toys and Mom has a little Easter egg hunt prepared so even if he doesn't get it, he'll surely enjoy it.
