This Blog is brought to you by...

...the good people of Keebler. (This is Nate)

I just would like to take this opportunity to thank Keebler and their loyal, dedicated army of marketing geniuses who, after decades, have completely reinvented vanilla wafers. While I'm sure you never dreamed this possible, these new mini, colored vanilla wafers are sooo much better than the original. I cannot implore you enough to purchase these next time your at the ol' Ac-a-me and try them for yourself. I will personally refund you if you don't enjoy them better; You will never purchase regular-sized vanilla wafers again. I'm actually not sure why the box says "Same Great Taste" - that's false advertising.

While I haven't been able to catch him in the act, Ben has quickly become addicted as well, as these wafers conveniently fit into his mini-mouth.

New Stuff

Today is full of new stuff. Most importantly, we got a new camera - yeah! As a result we got to take some pics of new stuff that Ben loves:
1. His new camera. He got our old, broken one - I smell a scam.
2. Feeding himself with his spoon. He is so proud.
3. Sweeping. This is the most hilarious one because he is in LUV with sweeping. Nate found this little hand broom and Ben pretty much would not put it down all afternoon. While he was sweeping he looked at me and said "picture", meaning he wanted me to take a picture of him with his beloved.

RIP High Chair

Ben is officially done with his high chair. He's essentially refusing to sit in it by arching his back and throwing a tantrum when we try to put him in it.

I handled this change no differently than any other change I experience...I started sweating. But then realized it meant one less big huge Ben thing in the house. Allelujah! RIP high chair...we had some good times together.

All of Ben's affections have now turned to "seat"...his booster seat which teeters on a bar stool in the kitchen. He found great joy today in trying to push his legs against the table and rock back in the chair. Oy vey. While I am writing this post I am simultaneously scouring the internet for some kind of permanent booster seat. Wish me luck.

Lots o Fam

This past weekend Ben got to see some of his favorite peeps. His Grandma (Gam as he's been calling her) came on Sat. to watch him while I was at a bridal shower and Nate was doing work on the house. Ben and Gam went to Gymboree and played with the new, exciting toys she brought. Then on Sunday Ben went to Mimi and Papap's house and got to see his Uncle Dan who was visitng from Boston. As you can see from the outfits and the smiles, they're two peas in a pod.

PS - We're getting a new camera this weekend - woo hoo!!

Even More Sunny Days

So, Ben has officially broken our camera. I am not sure what he did, but he banged it against the floor until the screen went white and now it doesn't work. Awesome. So, there maybe a bit of a lull in pictures. This picture is compliments of Ben's Mimi's iPhone. Kathie brought these sunglasses for Ben today because the sun has been bothering his eyes in the car, on walks, etc. He puts hands over his eyes and starts whining "sun, sun". He's taken to the shades quite easily and in the manner of say Tom Cruise circa Risky Business. I took him on a walk this afternoon and he wore them the whole way to the market and then put them in the little tray of his stroller when he didn't want to wear them anymore. I wish he was that careful with our camera.

Sunny Days

Ben is way into Sesame Street these days. He knows and points out most of the characters - Elmo, Zoe, Cookie, Oscar, Bert and Grover. He doesn't really know or say Big Bird or Ernie - I have no idea why. He loves Elmo and Zoe the most - to the point where he often times prefers that his diapers have either Elmo or Zoe on them (Pampers diapers have all the Sesame characters on them). When saying "Cookie" he recently started putting his hand to his face, like he's eating a cookie, just like Cookie Monster does. It's pretty hysterical. Fortunately for us we live very close to Sesame Place so I am sure we'll be making it out there this summer. It's going to blow Ben's mind to see the characters in person - he gets giddy just seeing them on TV!

Snow Day!

We got quite a storm today! It started last night and snowed until about 3pm today. Nate and I both stayed home and worked from home - which can prove quite difficult with Ben, even when there are two of us! We went outside to play in the snow...it took us about 20 minutes to get suited up and we were out there for all of 10 minutes. It was freezing and Ben wasn't really diggin' it - I think because it was just so cold. We had a fun day - not only did we teach Ben the fine art of multi-tasking (see talking on phone and drinking cup), we must have really worn him out. He literally fell asleep in his lunch - I don't ever remember him doing this before, although Nate says it has happened. That's why we need the blog!
